Advocate Christ Medical Center is committed to meeting the health care needs of new moms by providing the highest level of compassionate care. Our Lactation services do not stop when new mothers return home. As part of our commitment, we offer outpatient lactation services for mothers.
Nursing moms should set up an appointment with an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) if they are experiencing any of the following symptoms:
  • Baby not gaining weight
  • Over supply
  • Baby having difficulty latching/feeding
  • Plugged ducts
  • Cracked or sore nipples
  • Reduced supply
  • Engorgement
  • Mastitis
  • Nipple or breast anomaly
  • Thrush/yeast infection
How to set up an appointment:
  • Obtain an order from either mom’s Doctor or baby’s Pediatrician with the reason for the consultation
  • If order is entered, electronically - call 708-684-4385 to schedule your appointment
  • If order needs to be faxed, please fax to 708-520-8925 and then call 708-684-4385 to schedule your appointment
We take consult appointments monday through saturday at times that convenient for mom and baby.
  • On the day of your appointment: Park in Parking Tower A and enter through the main entrance.
  • Visit Guest Services and they will direct you to registration to initially check in.
